(April & June 2008).
A Grade competition was a close run affair with team Compact
Discs (Craig McCauley, Don Kim and Darryl Sandri) surviving a last round defeat
to win by 1 point from The Healers (Mike Stapp, Glenn May and Stu Falconer),
who also suffered a last round defeat.
The school competition saw an extremely strong performance from the Timaru
Boys High School 1 team of Dylan Rees, Kurt Engelbrecht and Andrew Lock. This
team had the competition wrapped up well before the last remaining games of the season. On
the final night before the school holidays they played a match against the school players
who had represented South Canterbury at the South Island Teams Tournament and managed to
hold off this challenge by winning 5-4.
